Interferential Treatment for Pain Relief & Rehabilitation
Interferential Treatment (IFT) is a non-invasive electrotherapy technique used by physiotherapists to support pain management, muscle relaxation and functional rehabilitation. At Craniaa Neuro Rehab Centre this treatment may be incorporated into an individualised physiotherapy programme when it is clinically appropriate. Interferential Therapy uses controlled electrical stimulation delivered through electrodes placed on the skin around the treatment area. The stimulation parameters can be adjusted according to the person’s condition, symptoms, comfort level and rehabilitation objectives. How Interferential Treatment Works During an IFT session, electrodes are positioned over or around the targeted area. The device delivers carefully controlled electrical currents, producing a gentle tingling or pulsing sensation.
